About The Author

Everybody likes to get away from the day to day normal routines of life, maybe take a vacation, see new things and even broaden your awareness of new challenges you have never experienced before. I just came back from a 6 day road trip with one of my grandsons.  Together we logged over 3,000 miles during which we installed a 40’ long counter on the roof of the oldest hotel in downtown Rapid City, South Dakota.  Besides work, we managed to see Mt. Rushmore, have a 5 cent cup of coffee at Wall Drug and finally stopped in Ames, Iowa to have lunch with my old college roommate and his wife (we were all active in the Baptist Student Union while in college at Iowa State University in the early 1970s.)

It was an exhilarating time, and one I will never forget.  I would like to invite you on a “5 Day Getaway” that can be equally as exhilarating as a whirlwind road trip.  It is an invitation to get away from the normal rigorous activities in life and link up on a consistent basis with your Heavenly Father.  We all try to make the effort to attend church every Sunday, but what do we do to nurture our spiritual life and development in the days in between those Sunday church activities we participate in?

Besides serving in the ministry and owning manufacturing businesses over the years, I have been writing “5 Day Getaway” Bible studies for over 11 years for the purpose of helping Christians keep a fresh and vibrant relationship with the Lord during the week, not just on Sunday.

I prepare these “getaway” studies every couple weeks trying to prepare pertinent topical studies, word studies, and even character studies from the Bible with daily assignments to challenge people to grow their Faith on a consistent basis.  I encourage you to try at least 2 “5 Day Getaway” studies hoping you will see the value of doing the studies then continue the studies every couple weeks I release another study from the “5 Day Getaway” website.  Even tell your friends and family to join in.  I will never ask you for money.

A verse in the scripture that has impacted my life greatly in recent years is 2 Corinthians 4:16 where the Apostle Paul says that although as he gets older and his physical body “outwardly wastes away”, inwardly he is being renewed in his spiritual life “day by day”.

He made the effort to grow his Faith in Christ on a consistent daily basis.  If you travel with me on these “5 Day Getaways”, you will grow even more passionately desiring to consume spiritual BREAD.  Spiritual BREAD is   Be  Renewed  Everyday  After  Day.

Blessings,
Mark Wassenaar
